curiosity

Here's another poem I just wrote:

in the loneliness of the slaving ant
like a drone mindlessly toiling on
one finds sanctuary in the thought of rest
only to be disappointed by the next task

yet when the gift of sleep is granted
like a stork bringing in a basket
the overjoy in disbelief is overdone
by the rush of fatigue like a flash flood

then the clouds subside and pass away
which is the gloomy dawn of day
the awakening of the lifeless mind
is as futile as lost treasure to find

for as long as the enigma lies fallow
the curiosity fuels the passion to discover
the unknown secrets that rest dormant
in the books that wait to be written

Buzzing Bee

here is a poem I wrote the other day:

buzz goes the bee who sits in the tree
searching for the vein of gold in the meadow
with a glint in the sun light he takes flight
to investigate the case of pollen so sweet

but only a false alarm, such a pity
just another event in the series of the day
so, not discouraged, a new search begun
in an endless gaze into the void of space

one’s life is such as these
the story of the buzzing bee
the superficial strife and worry
which has no consequence in life’s flurry

henceforth for many morrow
the monotonous busy sorrow
glazed over by the pollen of distraction
that occupies the hollowness of every faction

Gilad Shalit

Recently an Israeli soldier named Gilad Shalit who was captured by members of the terrorist organization Hamas was released today after spending 5 years in prison even though he had made no deliberate attempt to kill any Arabs. Just because he was a soldier put him at risk due to the hatred towards Israel from the Arab extremists. The release was at a cost though. In exchange for Shalit Israel had to release roughly 1000 Palestinian terrorists 300 of which had been proven guilty of murdering Israelis. Only 450 were released at first then Gilad was released and the rest are going to be handed over soon. Then as if being unrightly imprisoned for over 5 years wasn't enough, against the will of Gilad and the Israel he was forced to be interviewd before being released. In the interview he was even asked if he would help get other Palestinians out of prisons who were, in the words of the interviewer, "in prison against their will" but she failed to mention that they were all criminals involved in planning or carrying out attacks against Israel. Although I'm extremely happy to see him home I'm anxious to see what the newly released terrorists will do to attack Israel agian.

Freestyle antithought

The following is some anti-thought verse regarding the current economy
Leave a comment of any anti-thought of your own on the subject

As the currency inflaates and the government waits
for the bailout of procrastination to kick in
the tidal wave of debt gains volume as
it storms towards the capital of the world
the pillars will crumble and society
fumble with the few pieces of the country
that once was the cornerstone of the entire city

but when the radio and tv tell you not to panic
that is the time to flee and be frantic
for the time is near and your loved ones dear
might get hit while you lay in hopeless shambles unable
to go and help them to regain finacial feet
or even break even with the rising waters of
the wave which struck the unprepared, unguarded coast

COOLEST DRAWING

I just found this picture drawn of William Howard Taft who weighed around 500 pounds and had to have a bath tub custom made for him. It could fit five average men in it. Here is the pic:
